Believe for the Impossible

Recently, I was driving and listening to the bible on my phone. I was hearing about all the wonderful miracles Jesus was doing in the book of Mark. Suddenly, it was as if the narrators voice got louder when he said, “Jesus could do no mighty works there because of their un belief” (Mark 6:5).  I’ve had enough of these kind of experiences to know God was trying to get my attention.

As I thought about this statement more, here’s what came to my mind. Jesus is in this village wanting to make impossible things come to pass for the people he was ministering too, but He couldn’t. It wasn’t that He wouldn’t. He couldn’t. Wow. He wanted to make the impossible possible,  but couldn’t because they didn’t believe He could.

Then I thought how many times has Jesus wanted to do impossible things in my life but couldn’t? This was very sobering because He has done some amazing things in my life, but I am limiting Him from doing more?

As I thought further, I realized I can believe for possible things to come to pass in my life. For example. I can believe God will increase my income 10% this year. But can I believe Him to triple my income this year? It seems I’ve grown comfortable believing for possible things but not the impossible things.

I have been so challenged by this because I know God wants to do big amazing things in my life that are impossible without Him!

Maybe this is speaking to you too. So here is what I’m doing:

1. Every morning, I’m reading scriptures that remind me we serve a God of miracles like:

Mark 9:23

“And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes”

Luke 1:19

“For nothing will be impossible with God.”

2. I’m writing down the things in my life that I’d like to accomplish that seem impossible.

3. Every evening before going to bed, I’m reading more scriptures. Science tells us that we think all night on the last things we put into our mind before we drift off to sleep. Maybe its time to stop reading the news or facebook before we go to bed.

Let’s believe for the impossible together. Let’s believe God to heal that marriage, restore your fortunes, heal the chronic illness. He is the same yesterday today and forever! Remember, He is not holding one single thing against you. All of Gods anger was satisfied at the cross, paving the way for you and I to be recipients of Gods eternal love forever.

Believe for the impossible again friends!
